Kayak and Hiking Tour
This tour leaves early morning for a trip to Keauhou Bay. We launch our kayaks around 9am right after we give you a quick lesson on how to navigate and direct your kayak. Life Jackets available for the weary and a certified lifeguard on hand at all times. We leave Keauhou Bay for the next bay over, Kumo’o Bay. It takes around forty minutes to get there at a slow pace and from your vantage point looking back at the island of Hawai’i is a site indeed.
Once we reach our snorkeling area, we tie the boats together and snorkel for about a half an hour in twenty five foot deep water. Maritime is active in the morning and we see dolphins and manta rays about half the time we go out. After snorkeling time is up, we kayak back to the launching area, where you can shower and change and hop back into the van for a trip to the Kona International Market. Here you are given a coupon for lunch and after a little over an hour, so you can shop, eat and use the restroom. After you are back in the van heading Mauka, (means up the mountain), we go to the Kona Cloud Forest Sanctuary. This is a seventy acre property filled with trees, bamboo and flowers from around the world. You not only get to visit the Mountain Thunder Coffee Farm next door for about a half an hour, but we take a two hour hike into the jungle and experience Hawaii like it was before concrete was introduced.
Beautiful ocean views both above and below water, an International Market, a jungle and a coffee farm. All in one day.
